Painted Floors . . .

Dying to paint some floors in my home,
but ol' HandyHusband is not buying into this plan...
Next house! Will be in the plan!
Let's just hope I'm not too old to sit in the floor and do this!

ps. that sofa is killing me too!
but not so grandchild friendly and I want those too.

Confessions . . .

This is why I scroll.
and scroll...and scroll!

For months I've been painting a bookcase/media cabinet that HandyHusband built for the family room re-do. Each phase has been a painful one for this cabinet. HandyHusband's dyslexia got the pieces all flipped around when he installed a drawer for CDs and that was a tearful discovery when he so proudly brought it home and tried to put it together. (Picture HH in the floor, on his back, with a tear rolling toward his ear.) But it all worked out. Back to the workshop, corrections were made, but it was now my turn on the project. I decided it needed to be "decoratively" painted, distressed and glazed.

Unfortunately, I'm still on the decoratively painted phase...it's a pain!
It takes hours and hours. I'm pleased so far, but I was stuck!
Until I saw the image above this morning on PLAID!
Do you follow their blog? YOU SHOULD!

Images above were gathered from Benjamin Moore by PLAID!
Benjamin Moore Color stories are also a good follow!

Now Why Didn't I Think Of That . . .

I just saw this on {Poetic Home}
...Isn't it so clever...
Personally, I'd chose a simpler mantle,
but this is a fun recycling project for all you
young twenties out there fixin' up your first little castles!

I adore the chandelier twins too!!

Purse Danger . . .

If PIZITZ Home & Cottage was located in Charlotte,
My purse would surely not get out alive!

Thank goodness they are far away in Seaside, but just in case you venture their way, I think it should be on your things to check out list...Lora??  I found all of these images on their Facebook page but I'm still looking for the "LOVE" button..."Like" just isn't enough!

I love these quilt throws!
I've been working on my blanket for the family room,
but I think my club chairs need two quilted throws.

AND THESE!
THE FIRST THING ON MY WISH LIST FOR 2012!
I will have one of these by year's end!

It's a sign, don't you think?

Unpacked & Crushed !

Rooney Robison Antiques

Our container finally made it through customs
and everything is so pretty!

...Here's my wish list...

I need all of this some of this for my imaginary
PINK DINING ROOM!
(dear handyhusband, please get on board with this)

Tickled pink with my blue pair!!!

These hand-colored Kip Engravings are CRAZY beautiful!
The knife boxes aren't bad either huh?!

Isn't this the cutest chair?!
I think I need to knit a pillow to go with this little guy.

Ok, the little DR's Bag...NO WORDS! GIMME THAT!

I adore this drum!
Wish I could put it in BEATDROPPING's Room!
Would make a to-die-for bedside table!
He certainly has always carried on to his own drummer.
He whistles a lot too...sign of a happy soul!
(if you know him, you just smiled! cuz he does, right?)

See that little bamboo armoire?
It's part of a whole set!
Bed. Chest & Armoire
I think I need it!
I have to at least make the bedding!

...and these little skittles...crush...

Knock, Knock.
Who's there?
A CHEST FOR MY GUESTROOM!
Dang I want this!

I haven't measured yet, but I think my dining room
will see this hanging on the wall, but I better hurry before someone nabs it!

This is so sweet and petite.
I've got a spot in the study perfect for this bench!

This bench is b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l.,
but thankfully, I don't have room for this one ;-)

Will definitely go home with an ironstone drainer.
Will make an adorable soap dish in the kitchen!
I think mom needs one too!

This farm table is beautiful!
...I could go home with this entire window...
The chairs lived with me for a little bit while I made the slipcovers.

Aren't they sweet?
I didn't want to give them up!

Last, but certainly not least, this bench...I ADORE!

Ok, that's my list. You go make yours.
I'll do lots of "Get The Look" pages on RRA with this shipment!

Join The Discussion . . .

Restoration Hardware catalog buzz @ Cote de Texas
Listen to the chatter on The Skirted Roundtable.
I weighed it when it arrived, and YES 3 pounds.
I tweeted my amazement, but didn't know how I felt.

BUT I LOVE IT!

To me, walking around in Restoration Hardware qualifies as a date. We've missed a movie or two while discussing paint colors and sitting in the oversized chair together people watching. I bet it won't be long before HandyHusband finds the catalog (on the phonebook shelf)  and qualifies strolling through the catalog and dog-earring as one too! The big discussion on The Skirted Roundtable is really about whether the look will last. I left a comment in their comment section with my thoughts, but the short of it is BUY ANTIQUES and use them in a trendy way. Good bones last forever, but fabrics get dirty and look dated. We're suppose to redecorate! That's why interior design is a business! Restoration Hardware has changed their look and you should too. You can purchase new fabrics and fun accessories but keep your bones! If your sofa needs replacing, buy a good one so you don't have to replace it...just reupholster with a wonderful new fabric!

Next thought, I can't wait to read this!

You know linen is my absolute favorite for drapes, furniture,
clothing and even my favorite knit stitch!
I'm making a linen stitch blanket right now!
I can hardly wait to show it to you!

Best little tidbit to pass along from the Roundtable discussion
is Restoration Hardware's 20% Trade Discount
as well as Pottery Barn's, Crate & Barrel's and Ballard Design's.
