Oh the Pastabilities!

Ok Instagrammers, you asked for it,
but don't send the gym bill to me!
You have been warned!

...Pasta with Salmon Cream Sauce...

You'll want to plan ahead for this one y'all.
Not because the ingredients are hard to find, but
you'll want to skip dessert the night before!

It's totally worth it though!
And guest worthy!
Just keep in mind if you ever come to my house to eat,
you'll need to pretend you've never had it.
Deal?

So easy, right?!
Your guests will think you slaved over it!

Cozy Winter Request...

I'm not a foodie by any stretch of the imagination,
but cozy food is totally my gig and you'll see
it on my instagram from time to time.
If you want the recipe, comment
and I'll post it here!

@draehhorner, this one's for you, love!

I always serve this with crusty French bread
and Parmesan cheese!

Fashionable Friends . . .

You know those friends you love too much to hate?
Well, here ya go!
My friend Lora is ROCKIN' IT @ Aspen International Fashion Week!
She's the lovely on the left and, yes, don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
She is definitely beautiful, but don't let the fur fool ya!
She's a pretty on the inside as she is on the outside!
I just HATE that I'm not her sidekick at THIS shindig!

Rubbing elbows with more loveliness!
❅ with Kim Deam of WhoWhatWear

This is not the end!

There's more to come so FOLLOW her on TumblrInstagram @FashionablyAspen and Pinterest
because you know what they say,
"They come for the Winter, but they stay for the Summer!"
Aspen is a Year-Round Sport!

Oh and PS - If you're a book lover, she eats books for breakfast!
Check out her lists on GOODREADS!

Maybe I'll post pics from her Aspen Mountain-top wedding...
it was the most memorable wedding I've ever attended...
Including my own! :/

Insta - Crush !

I am totally smitten with these little
Simone Ceramique "Love Houses" for votive candles
made in Israel from LINEN & MILK!
Each house is different and signed by the artist.
I ran across them on INSTAGRAM somehow
and went down the rabbit hole of following links.
They are adorable and I want every single one!
The little laundry house kills me!

It's Time For A Giveaway !

Hey y'all!
Let me introduce my friend Reeve Coobs!
I was over the moon honored awhile back when Reeve
asked me to do a few illustrations for her blog and now,
I get to host a GIVEAWAY for her new CD!
My copy went in the CD player... and it's still there!

❤  ❤  ❤

I met Reeve through the Tosco Music Party and The Evening Muse and I believe it was around her 21st birthday! But somehow, I feel like we've always been friends... I can't remember life without Reeve in it! She has the voice and heart of an angel! When we both had more free time, we use to get together lots to knit and solve all the problems of the world. In fact, I think Reeve is one of the few friends I have that has ever MADE ME SOMETHING! You know how I feel about a handmade gift! BEST!

 ❤  ❤

I can hardly wait until the CD Release Party next weekend, Friday, Nov. 1st, 6:30pm @ The Neighborhood Theatre. Here's what they have to say about Reeve and I couldn't say it better myself... She "creatively blends folk, pop, country, and rock into an original sound of her own. Her lyrics are smart and real, and her voice is rich and haunting and leaves you wanting more. Reeve's songs can sometimes be uncomfortably honest, but that is what makes her such a moving performer. She has a very powerful voice but unlike most voices you hear today, Reeve knows when to keep it soft and light. Her thoughtful lyrics and voice joined with her tasteful guitar playing makes for an extremely rare talent. In 2005 Reeve won the Creative Loafing of Charlotte Reader's Pick award for Best Female Vocalist."

She's been as busy as a bee making some VERY cool stuff for the party!
So I had to get with the spirit and choose something I've made
to add to the giveaway....

TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY:
REQUIRED: Hop over and FOLLOW REEVE ON TWITTER!
Tweet me that you've followed her @champagnemaker!
That's all you have to do to be entered to

Off To My Happy Place !

HandyHusband planted these in the backyard a few years back.
They are HUGE now and the color is AMAZING!
They are right behind my favorite perch @ my in-laws.
The view from where I sit...
As you can see, it's pretty hard to get up!

It took us awhile to get the boats in the water.
They're old and needed some "tweeking."
They're not worth taking pictures of!
One we call "The Ugly Duckling," if that gives you a mental image!
Let's just say there's duck tape and glue involved.
Not a pretty picture, but fun.
Mrs. Johnson's little boat, on the other hand, is one
of my favorite sights of the summer...

Meanwhile, back at the cottage! I welcome a rainy day! Inspiration is everywhere you look when the sun's out sooo... Let it RAIN! It has to actually be pouring to keep us inside though, and we only had one rainy day for me to make a mess like this. I took way more than I finished, but my sister-in-law made me a bowl perfect to keep me from spilling my beads on the beach! She's been contracted by the Maine Marathon for MUGS this year! If you're running, she can put your time on the back with the Maine Marathon Logo! VERY COOL!

Sneak peek of the hairchop!
It's even shorter now!

Here are a few of #handyhusband's @handygrams!
Oh how family jokes get taken too far...
This all started with my posting an instagram video
of #handyhusband snoring through the night.
The rest will be history, stay tuned or follow him.
I can guarantee the he will NOT blow up your feed!
He has an old flip phone that he still hasn't learned to use.
He has put me fully in charge of his profile on instagram, but
has taken full responsibility of the actual handygram!

A few years ago, we bought a Tom Deininger Oil from The Donovan Gallery and I'm always so curious to see his work each time we go in. This year, I was totally shocked by his collages! They are AMAZING, but nothing like the oil painting we purchased. So inspired to come home and chop up my stacks of magazines that I haven't a clue why I can't throw them out.

There was a new boutique in Tiverton 4 Corners this year, SALT. Still wishing I had found a way to squeeze this pouf in the back of the car on the way home... but we would have had to leave Hobbs in Westport, sooooo I can make my own pouf, but this Roberta Roller Rabbit one is precious! There's also a new yarn shop, Perfectly Twisted, but they were closed, I couldn't jimmy the lock and I was too short (still am) to peek in the windows for a full report. :[

And what's vacation without food, right?
We ate a lot of lobster and a Maker's share of corn, but...

Until next year charming little harbor town.

...Heaven on Earth...

And yes, I do know how lucky I am!

Instagram @ Work !

I took a few minutes at the end of the day to play with Instagram!
I snapped lots of my favorite things @ WORK.
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you've already seen these,
so b'bye, but if not...

I LOVE THIS DRUM!
It would make a great gift for BeatDropping
but not sure how it would fair in a dorm room...
(note to self: buy now, save for later : )

I've been batting my eyelashes at HandyHusband to get him
to convert the armoire in the family room into a bar.
If I succeed, I believe I'll have to bring home a decanter or two...or three.
This bamboo chest really needs to live in my guestroom and since I
slip-covered those dining chairs, well, I think they should live with me too.
Anne and I put the same fabric on that lovely bench and I've
always wanted an old bottle tree!

That insanely beautiful secretary has a nickname...Harry Potter.
It's beautiful. The green bullseye glass in the doors is so unique.
When I finish the family room details, I think I'll be sneaking the
Staffordshire Poodles onto the mantel and adding to my
clock face collection.
The porcelain tureen is part of a pretty big collection.
I want it all, but I'm willing to share it with PrettyStuff!

Need vs. Want
Always an issue around here!
Zebra figurines: WANT, Garden Stool: NEED,
Oyster Plates: WANT, Ladder Shelf: NEED,
Green Confit Pot: WANT

We have a pair of these Imari fish and they are KILLER!
As hot as orange is these days, I honestly can't believe they lasted
more than a day in the shop...think Aqua beach house with orange
Hermes blanket on the sofa and those fish on your coffee table!
I adore this roof tile lamp and the book lamp is a great guy gift!
Anne and I fight over that bamboo table and our newest treasure
is this incredible late 18th century needlepoint barley twist chair!
