Ok, I know I have all I really need,
so I always say, "If I can't make it, I don't really need it."
because I NEED to make stuff.

I'm loving these paint rollers from

Another Southern Crush !

{if you are an email subscriber, your video may not show up, please visit the blog to see the video}

I teared up when I watched this video!
It's an overwhelming feeling when you watch
a video on someone who is EXACTLY who your dream ME is.
I love how Natalie Chanin is putting people back to work.
I love how it is producing things that are handmade.
I love EVERYTHING about this line!
I've gushed over them before, HERE and HERE.
but I just had to share this video from Etsy's Handmade Portraits.

Natalie, YOU'VE BEEN CRUSHED...AGAIN!

I recently ordered the color cards for their organic cotton.
My needle will be in this soon... Maybe I can figure out a way to
get to a workshop and actually meet her!
Anybody wanna go with me?

Race To Rikshaw !

I don't think I've ever enjoyed ANY Spring garment
as much as I did my Rikshaw Kurta.
Her new spring 2012 line is live!

I think I need two this year, don't you??
They are so fun and look, they make you dance on the counter!

KURTA POWER!

This was PrettyStuff's graduation! HandyHusband
and I were the last parents standing on Friday night and
I'm pretty sure that BeatDropping (pictured bodyguard) thought I
was going head first into the floor when I hopped up on the counter top to
take pictures of the party. Little did I know that it would be documented.

Psst: this dancing picture was sorta staged.
I was actually pretty invisible, taking pictures of crying dancing Kappa Deltas.
Thanks for the pic Sarah and I love your blog header :D

Join The Discussion . . .

Restoration Hardware catalog buzz @ Cote de Texas
Listen to the chatter on The Skirted Roundtable.
I weighed it when it arrived, and YES 3 pounds.
I tweeted my amazement, but didn't know how I felt.

BUT I LOVE IT!

To me, walking around in Restoration Hardware qualifies as a date. We've missed a movie or two while discussing paint colors and sitting in the oversized chair together people watching. I bet it won't be long before HandyHusband finds the catalog (on the phonebook shelf)  and qualifies strolling through the catalog and dog-earring as one too! The big discussion on The Skirted Roundtable is really about whether the look will last. I left a comment in their comment section with my thoughts, but the short of it is BUY ANTIQUES and use them in a trendy way. Good bones last forever, but fabrics get dirty and look dated. We're suppose to redecorate! That's why interior design is a business! Restoration Hardware has changed their look and you should too. You can purchase new fabrics and fun accessories but keep your bones! If your sofa needs replacing, buy a good one so you don't have to replace it...just reupholster with a wonderful new fabric!

Next thought, I can't wait to read this!

You know linen is my absolute favorite for drapes, furniture,
clothing and even my favorite knit stitch!
I'm making a linen stitch blanket right now!
I can hardly wait to show it to you!

Best little tidbit to pass along from the Roundtable discussion
is Restoration Hardware's 20% Trade Discount
as well as Pottery Barn's, Crate & Barrel's and Ballard Design's.

Intoxication . . .

{email subscribers: you might have to visit the blog to see the video}

I, like ~ HonestlyWTF,~ am obsessed with Indian block prints.
From Rikshaw Design to John Robshaw Textiles, to Kerry Cassill Bedding...
The list goes on and on these days!
You can even find beautiful block prints on ~ ETSY.~

HHusband travels to India on business and has always said I should come too...I haven't really had to desire until I saw this video, so thanks a lot ~ HWTF ~ for sharing this video and adding this to my to-do list. I think you'll see me on HHusbands next Indian travel itinerary. I not only love the fabrics, I'm intoxicated by the whole technique and think I'll be carving my own bee ASAP!

Pile It On . . .

My mom saves me all her of catalogs and every time I visit, we pour over them with our coffee in the morning. There was a new one in the pile this trip and as I started to tear out the pages, I realized that I was going to tear every one, so I just brought the whole thing home with me. Then, of course, I ended up on their website and building a wish list...

From ~ Bedding ~

to ~ Furnishings, ~

 ~ lighting ~ to the ~ floor ~
...you'll find rugs, gifts, fabrics and more...

I thought this was the ~ sweetest baby blanket ~
I've ever seen and can't wait for someone
to have a baby so I can gift this!

Remember the 2 seagrass poufs I wanted?
Good things come to those who wait!
Replace one of those poufs with one of these ~ cubes! ~

...their ~ Paint Palate ~ is irresistible...
yes, I did tear this page from the catalog for
my inspiration board!

They promise a ~ Bazaar ~ update on May 21st!
Of course that's ~ PrettyStuff's ~ graduation weekend,
so I'll have to sneak a tiny minute to check out the finds, because
from the looks of the previous items available, they won't last long!

...and if that's not enough...

...check out the sale pages...
...I found another fabulously priced baby gift...

...so...

Visit their website!
You are assured your very own crush list!

Pillow Inspiration !

The New Victorian Ruralist
love it!

I've got the whole family room redo to pillow up!
...Here's a peek so far...

{the background is to reupholster my sofa * the fabric with the fun medallions is my chairs which just arrived * I have 7.5 yards of the French Knot twig fabric and plan to use it somehow in the drapes maybe with a pecan linen * zebra linen trimmed in blue, pussy willow, and French knot monogram are for pillows on the chaise which will need a slipcover * the crewel is for 2 throw pillows on the sofa}

I need some darker fabrics. Have you seen anything fun that would work?
I loved those super chunky-giant corduroy chairs I posted yesterday.
I need that fabric to break up the duck egg blue on the sofa.
...I saw it somewhere this week in the blue...
but I liked that pecan color...or olive green would be fun!

My Bee Skep Needlepoint looks good in the mix too.
I gotta get that finished...only a few more leaves to go!
Maybe I'll needlepoint a rug for in front to the fireplace when I finish!

...It's a start, don't you think...
...being a do-it-yourselfer and on a tight budget is hard...
but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Determined To Get This Look . . .

street style

Ok, I know, at my age, this is risky, but I've been saving pictures for spring with this look for weeks now. Something about it has hooked me and I gotta have a sheer-bottomed dress. Remember, I have the dot chiffon... I don't think I can wear it like this...street style, but dressy? Yes, I think (I said think) I can pull this off. Ditch the leather jacket, bootie and giant tote. Add sparkly clutch, and some great heels... maybe in a fun color... I want this...or is it I just want to look cool like this?
