My Contribution to the Discussion . . .

I'm sure you've all heard about, or read, the ~ online discussions ~ about all the new online magazines and of course the bloggers have united in support of "their girls!" What would we do without you ~ Matchbook, Lonny, HighGloss & Rue? ~ I for one, read them all, love them all for different reasons and that even varies from issue to issue. I think it's the same with print magazines too...but now, with the addition of blogs and online magazines, I've given up all my subscriptions keeping only one fashion and one interiors subscription at a time and switching yearly. And frankly, let's be honest, it's for the coffee table y'all...Of course you can't love everything cover-to-cover, but you don't love it all in print either. Their subscriptions are down, but instead of criticizing the online gals, they should just do what they should be doing and raise their own bar...get to work people. Give us a reason to want your paper on our coffee tables!

So, to all of the bloggers and magazine editors online,
no matter what the NYTimes says,
I will continue to...soak you all up like a sponge!
YOU MAKE MY EVERYDAY!

Blogger's Mind of Its Own . . .

If you're a blogger, you haven't given my double posting a single thought.
If you're just a reader, you're thinking, "She's had too much coffee."
Sorry about the reposting, but blogger messed up my labels.

Hey Baby, What's Your Sign?

Apparently, you aren't what you think you are. I just got a late-night phone call from ~ PrettyStuff ~ ranting about not being a Libra anymore and not sure how she feels about being a Scorpio. Of course my first thought was that she'd found some crazy blog post somewhere, but then a little Google search sent me right to an article that confirmed this rant. I think PrettyStuff found some other dates, cuz by the chart I found, she's a Virgo, not a Scorpio. I'm now a Pisces instead of an Aries. I found these characteristic cards online...

I have to admit I like the description of Pisces better...
Or maybe they just seem easier for me to live up to.
Is there a reason for that?
I mean, I wouldn't have to try so hard
to be something I apparently am.
Right?

Then I sought out the daily horoscopes and read my old one first...

Sounds good, but exhausting right?
Then I read my NEW one!
Y'all! Change is good!
...And I do like the whole fish thing...

But then I saw this and got a little worried:
Uh oh, is this why I like my new sign?
Because I'm lazy and it's easier to be a Pisces
than that resolution making Aries person?
What's your new sign? Do you like it?

NOW, while I've been searching around and writing this post, there's been an update on the ~ Washington Post Article ~ where I started...STOP THE PRESSES...we don't get to switch if we like our new one better...You can go read for yourself and there's even a 13th sign that I'd never even heard about. Obviously I'm not that into it and have never been one to read my horoscope every day, but I liked my new sign. I'm comfortable being my usual Aries I guess and I would never have labeled me as "lazy."

So don't worry your ~ PrettyStuff ~ little head, Pete, you're still a Libra!

A Little Sketchy . . .

A girlfriend asked me the other day
how I keep it all straight.
I seem to have several irons in the fire
at all times and am a little ragged
on the edges more than occasionally...
I have these in each and every bag I carry.
(Ruled Pages, 5.25" x 8.25")
pronounced \kä-ya\.
The word is of French origin, meaning paper-book.

You might think that's not so much,
but, let's just say I'm one bag
short of stealing a cart
from the grocery!
(Plain Pages, 7.5"x9.75")
AND THESE! ~ are my favorites!
...beside every chair...
...in every project bag...
...behind every lamp...
...under every arm...
...and I'm obviously over the moon about them...

They come in a few colors,
but I always buy the kraft paper brown,
stamp my bee on the front,
and off we go.

Moleskines are one of my not-so-secret vices. I get nervous when I don't have at least three empty ones in waiting. "Champagne, aren't they just boring little brown notebooks that you can get anywhere?" NO! I SAID!

"MOLESKINE is the legendary notebook that has held the inspirations and ideas of everyone from Van Gogh, Picasso and Hemingway to famed author, Bruce Chatwin. Artists, authors, and geniuses of all variety have long appreciated the simplicity and superior functionality of these notebooks.

Originally these books were produced by small French bookbinders who supplied the Parisian stationery shops frequented by the international avant-garde. However, In 1986, the last manufacturer of Moleskine, a family operation in Tours, closed and Moleskines were gone – but not forgotten. As a result of their previous popularity and demand, they did return. In 1998, a small Milanese publisher brought these books back for writers, artists, travelers and all free-thinkers around the globe." via ~ their website ~

I keep thinking they are gonna
make me crazy talented someday too!
hmmmm

If you want a sturdier Notebook,
These ~ Volant Notebooks ~ are nice,
but smaller than I like and seem
a little too serious for me.
They come in a bunch of colors,
but I still like the kraft cardboard.
They just fit me.

I'm gonna order one of these
And I think these are really cool.
I wish they'd put this expandable pocket
in the back of the Cahier Notebooks!
It has a slim pocket,
but I'd like the expandable.

I'm serious about my Moleskines, I buy them atBinders ~ andPaper Skyscraper ~ here in Charlotte if you think you need to go getchu some! They come in little packs of threes. I love to decorate them for my "sketchy" friends too. They make a fun thoughtful gift I think.
