Needles Vs Nieman Marcus ?

HEY Y'ALL!
It's been awhile since I've posted.
Crush Cul de Sac is about all I can handle at the end
of my busy days lately, but it's getting chilly around here
and I just had to show you this YUMMY Vince Cardigan
that is going to get knocked off on my needles ASAP!

I would normally say it was because it was so expensive, but not this time. It's only $345. I know, that's kind of expensive, but not bad for Nieman Marcup! If you divide it by how many times you'll wear it, well darlin' it's free! I need to rummage through the yarn closet and see what I have enough of to make this, but I might also need to detour to Nieman Marcus this week on the way to one of my many accumulated jobs #GoingInSoManyDirections!

Just Got Pushed . . .

I was right at the edge of starting another needlepoint project.
I was going to start another cuff and then I saw this bag.
I was pushed over the edge, gonna paint this as a
needlepoint canvas and start a bag ASAP!

Not sure what shape...maybe a tiny-tiny date night one... but I'm sold on the animal print, but maybe zebra or giraffe? Page, you with me? Mom? Ridgley? Elizabeth? How 'bout you Woozie? Jump off the knitting wagon for a spring project!? PrettyStuff????!!!! Come on P, wish you would.

Feeling A Little Lost ?

{Miami Photographer: Craig Denis via Houzz}

Well, my search is over.
I still haven't found the source for my wallpaper in the upstairs hallway, but I now know what I want over the fireplace in the family room or in the two empty spaces on the wall over the painted HandyHusband bookcase. We got in a few maps in our last shipment from England @ Rooney Robison Antiques, but they went flying out the front door with designers about two seconds after we got them tagged and on the floor, but it sent me hunting.

I've found a fabulous source!
Go poke around on their site. They have tons of inspiration!

I love the really big ones in tiny moldings.

Majesty Maps & Prints has a wonderful ~ inspiration vault ~

I LOVE the paneled screen with the maps!
I've got a simple antique screen that has never been utilized other
than to hide junk in my junk room studio. We found it in New England
and I removed the yucky old fabric covered panels and always intended to
paint the wood I replaced them with, but I love the map idea better!

I also LOVE how they've framed these old pages and hung
them with no space between.

...It's beautiful here too...

{Bronxville Townhouse: Cheryl Tague}

I followed all the links and emailed for
the maps I'd be over the moon for if they had them for me.
So whether they had small or large, I've got plenty of ideas now.

The collage of Italy is CRAZY FABULOUS!

And so is this chair, not to mention the chart with the
measuring thingy drawn on it.

(I know, it's a mechanical drawing compass, but I like thingy better.)
We've also got some wonderful leather trunks @ RRA

So, if you love to travel and have special places that have meant THE WORLD to you, is there a better way to remind you daily of your trip? This is also a wonderful idea for an anniversary gift. HandyHusband doesn't read my blog very often (only when I remind him to), so I can tell you I'm hoping my hunt is over by our anniversary in June. I'm off to The Map Shop on East Morehead in Charlotte to see what they have. Martha's Vineyard (where we got engaged), Massachusetts/Rhode Island Coastline (every summer of our life together), Kenya (our honeymoon), Madrid (visited  PrettyStuff while she was abroad... I know I run the risk of her snatching that one right off the wall, but it would also be a pretty special heirloom, right?).

Don't forget about helping me find my wallpaper too!
Anybody?

many crush hugs to Chic Coles for posting the link to Majesty Maps & Prints!

Love The Shrug ! Love Oscar . . .

PrettyStuff showed me this first glimpse of the Oscar Runway
posted earlier today by OscarPRGirl.
She's beautiful, the dress is beautiful, but
all I could see was the hole in her fishnets...
BLESS HER HEART!

Of course I couldn't stand not knowing if they taped it shut
before she hit the runway, so I went straight to Style.com
to look for the whole show.

By the time I saw this photo on the slideshow,
I had forgotten all about the hole in her fishnets...
It's still there, but I found lots more to
obsess over...

First of all...fishnets on almost every model. I LOVE THEM!
I've always worn the DKNY nude ones as
an option to bare legs...LOVE THEM!

I adore this dress!
I love how ladylike it is.
Not spray-painted on for sexy.
Anybody, any age could wear this dress.

Oscar always brings pink down the runway.
But I LOVE THE HAIR in this show!

But let's be honest.
We all know that what I'm looking for when
I watch these shows is something I can
MAKE ALL BY MYSELF!
LOVE THE SHRUG!
Use my Southend Hobo Bag charts to GET THE LOOK!
I'll write this up ASAP!

...This one too...
So similar to my Bow-Peep pattern
that just came off my needles. I honestly
just promised a friend that I would add a Turtleneck
option to that pattern when I typed it up!

When I met Oscar last spring,
surely we exchanged some sort of telepathic knit wave!

Keeping Me Straight . . .

Where would I be without my blogging buddies?
In the funny farm apparently.
My bestie @ Beadboard Upcountry (to only mention one)
just called me out on the dented "Wiley Coyote" pillow in a previous post.
Seems my pillow denting habit got more attention than my little chair.
Others were more subtle...
"hmmm, love your chair, but what kind of amimal is on your pillow?"
Some were kinder and said they didn't want to wait
for window treatments or pillows to see more of the room.
They are aware of how slow I am or were hoping that the next
picture would reveal the mystery pillow more clearly.
So...here's a peek at the corner.

...a little bit of this and a little bit of that...
...now back to the dog pillow...

They are a little wierd looking, aren't they?
I love needlepoint pillows, so I guess I paid more attention
to them matching my palate than I did the dogs and y'all, they were on sale!
Yes, THEY, I have two of these weird looking dogs so there's no turning back.
ALL SALES FINAL blowout sale @ Rooney's...Impulse?

Buy now, ask later? What are they? Collies?

I made this one myself, he lives on couch for now,
but he's desperately lonely. I need to make about 4 more pillows.
But there are people ahead of me on that list!
I really need to sit down for an entire day to make just pillows!

Mom gave me this one for Christmas.
I think she may have heard HH complaining about the naked couch...
This one's for my Beadboard Upcountry Texas gal!

I have a thing for Needlepoint AND Cows.
...Here's my other two favorite cows in the house...

Now, I won't even get started on my antler problem collection.
...Another post of another day...

Thanks for keeping me straight y'all!

All Day To Bake . . .

I wish I had baking on my to-do list.
It's not my best category.
But if I had all day to bake,
I'd make these itty bitty cakes and I'd
make felted ornaments to go on each one
when I wrapped them in fun holiday boxes for my people.

Maybe if I start in January, by next year I can pull this off.
I've saved this recipe from Tartelette in my Pinterest
Just in case you find yourself
with some extra time!

Love The Glove !

I think these are Alexander McQueen!
Does ANYBODY know where I can find them?
not the purse, not the watch, THE GLOVE!

Ya know, tumblr is just killing my wish list today.
I know these are a fortune...do you think I can just make 'em?
If I could find the printed calf hide, the rest would be easy
thanks to my stash of leather from my brother-in-law!

Holiday Sparkle . . .

My tree is up, but I don't have lots of sparkly ornaments.
My kids made most of what dangles from our branches.
I love all of those ornaments so much, but would
love a box full these mercury glass teardrops
and these chandelier crystals to hang
in the mix!

(A little trip to the flea market and a little DIY time would
would give me the chandelier crystal ones! Off to PIN those to
my "I Should Make This" board for next year!)
