Rediculously Cool !

Ok, I know I have all I really need,
so I always say, "If I can't make it, I don't really need it."
because I NEED to make stuff.

I'm loving these paint rollers from

Thank You Cote de Texas . . .

image

For the peek inside the Beautiful World of Amy Howard
posted on Cote de Texas today!

image

I could have re-posted every single image, but
I've chosen only teasing photos.

image

An Amy Howard Seminar has just been
moved to the top of my bucket list, but until then,
I'm a little nervous about how much money I will spend

image

image

I think first on my list are
two antiqued mirrored bedside tables for PrettyStuff!
and surely HandyHusband can move my
trumeau mirror up on
his to-do list.

Please go visit Cote de Texas to see the rest of Joni's post!
The photos are amazing and if you have even a thread of do-it-yourselfer
in your personality, I have no doubt you'll be filling your own
cart on Amy Howard @ Home as quickly as you can click

Now Why Didn't I Think Of That . . .

I just saw this on {Poetic Home}
...Isn't it so clever...
Personally, I'd chose a simpler mantle,
but this is a fun recycling project for all you
young twenties out there fixin' up your first little castles!

I adore the chandelier twins too!!

Reunion Time . . .

PrettyStuff just left for her first Wofford Homecoming as an alum!
The stories of Homecoming were always so fun, but I can't
even imagine how much fun they are going to have
as alumni at their first official HOMEcoming!

So, as I reflected back to her graduation,
I realized I never shared the graduation gifts
we made for 12 VERY SPECIAL GIRLS!

We started with 13 (cuz PrettyStuff needed one too) bottles of wine
and stripped them of their labels.

I spent a month of Sundays painting each
little portrait while PrettyStuff
composed the "message in the bottle."

There was a little typo, but we didn't fix it
because it was so appropriate.
See if you can find it.
(you 12 girls can't play this game since you know)

We added an award sticker to for an honorary KD.
There was no way we were going to leave one
of the gang behind just because she went
astray and then found her way!

We then added 13 pair of faceted chalcedony earrings
because I need a little twinkle on everything.

They made quite a special gift!

...And so now it's their first Homecoming...

GO TERRIERS!

(and yes, I can help you with this!)

It's No Secret . . .

...that one of my favorite blogs is ~ Honestly WTFI think my favorite thing about it is how they balance their posting. There's a perfect balance of fashion you just picture yourself wearing wishing you had the body to wear could afford and fashion you actually buy. And,as you would have guessed, what usually tips the scale in my direction, is the ~ DIY Posts ~ with fashion you can WTFUY (whip the heck up yourself). I loved seeing her past projects combined in the last picture!

That is what the arms of the kids
would look like if had to run a little "Champ Camp" this summer!

Remember this one?

And these were my all-time faves!

Their ~ Friendship Necklaces ~ are so fun!

psst...
I might even talk ~ PrettyStuff ~ into a little crafty porch day while we're on vacation.
(but, I'd better add taupe floss to my shopping list if I think that will happen!)

I'm guessing there will be some of these supplies packed in
my project bag for our annual trip to New England in a few weeks.
They would actually make a pretty good "car project" for the ride up...
Pretty portable, I think, and I could probably have an arm full
by the time we arrived that would be fun to wear
and embellish while we were there...

If you're reading this in a Reader, don't forget that I keep a little running link list in my ~ sidebar ~ for DIY projects. I'm off to add the ~ friendship bracelet ~ to that list right now! UGHHH and then eat my Cheerios and finish painting the family room. Home Depot, here I come...I should probably grab my ~ hex nuts ~ while I'm there!

Splatter overalls Vogue
(wonder when my painting crew is going to arrive?)

And don't forget the ~ GIVEAWAY ~ only 3 more days to play!

Do You Rue ?

Yeah, Me Too!

I think it was the ~ BEST ISSUE YET!!! ~
I could just crawl right in!

...a few images I can't (and don't want to) shake...

{this is just plain adorable ~ Kriste Michelini ~
it reminds me of an empty decal frame @ ~ PrettyStuff's ~ apartment!}

{I need to make that ~ Anthropologie ~ cardigan}
I'm thinking double stranded ~ Rowan Kid Silk Haze! ~ on 7s or 8s
for a ~ Stitch Poet Wrapigan ~ in stripes like this...
leaner sleeves and ditch the fringe?
Knit Along Anyone?

{this inspires me to do something with the crystal stoppers
we have at ~ Rooney Robison Antiques
as if I need another project.}

{excuse me...the porcelain bee skep...need!
where can I get that?!}

{and this is begging to be needlepoint!}

I've only shared a smidge of what I saved!
...the project inducing photos...
The Starburst Mirror DIY has me aching to paint ping pong balls!
and the "a handful of DUST" photos are AMAZING!
So, click on over and might I suggest you put
on your bookmarks bar?!

Pillow Inspiration !

The New Victorian Ruralist
love it!

I've got the whole family room redo to pillow up!
...Here's a peek so far...

{the background is to reupholster my sofa * the fabric with the fun medallions is my chairs which just arrived * I have 7.5 yards of the French Knot twig fabric and plan to use it somehow in the drapes maybe with a pecan linen * zebra linen trimmed in blue, pussy willow, and French knot monogram are for pillows on the chaise which will need a slipcover * the crewel is for 2 throw pillows on the sofa}

I need some darker fabrics. Have you seen anything fun that would work?
I loved those super chunky-giant corduroy chairs I posted yesterday.
I need that fabric to break up the duck egg blue on the sofa.
...I saw it somewhere this week in the blue...
but I liked that pecan color...or olive green would be fun!

My Bee Skep Needlepoint looks good in the mix too.
I gotta get that finished...only a few more leaves to go!
Maybe I'll needlepoint a rug for in front to the fireplace when I finish!

...It's a start, don't you think...
...being a do-it-yourselfer and on a tight budget is hard...
but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I Read You . . .

Antique Reading Glasses - Wire Frame Spectacles

If you use a Reader or email subscription to check out your blog list,
don't forget you're missing the sidebars and page design!
I'm often so behind on my Reader that there's not enough time to visit
the actual pages, but it makes me so happy when I pop into
any of my favorite blogs to see new page elements.

If you're reading this, and you are, don't forget to check out my

Patiently Waiting . . .

Did you know that you can't just walk in and buy yardage at Calico Corners anymore? Not sure what their thinking was on this marketing move, but I think it's a mistake. So, I'm guessing Monroe Road will be frequently traveled straight to the front door of ~ Front Door Fabrics, ~ my favorite interiors fabric source. My new chairs will arrive soon and I'll need to make some decisions on what to do with my sofa (slipcover? reupholster? do it myself? send it out?) and I'll have a pile of pillows to make, new drapes, some paint colors to pick and some furniture to rearrange when hot husband finishes the bookcase...

...I just saw these pillows online @ ~ J.CovingtonHome ~...

I wish they had a better photo of this one.
I think it's beautiful, but can pull this off myself on
the linen I just bought from ~ Front Door Fabrics ~

I wouldn't needlepoint this for $150!
I wouldn't even paint the canvas for that!
I'll be ordering this pillow as soon as my chairs arrive...or sooner!

Now, as for the first two pillows, they're beachy (not to mention pricey for what they are) so not suitable for my suburban castle, but I do recall seeing some great fabrics merchandised with this look @ yes, ~ Front Door. ~

I LOVE the canceled stamp!
I hope it matches my chairs! I can't even remember what
they look like now...please hurry up and get here!

...and yes, I can make them in any size I want...
Front Door's CRAZY selection of forms!
...ANY size...ANY fill...ANY ideas?...

I'm cursed with the ability to do it myself, so as usual I've got work to do.
I just need my chairs!

2nd Verse . . . Same a the 1st . . .

I just saw these linen stitch bookmarks on ~ Tumblr ~
posted from ~ Melanie Falick Books ~
The bookmark pattern is in

Or you can download my bracelet pattern,

With a few alterations and omissions,
you can make valentine bookmarks.
The Linen Stitch is my favorite!

(eww, look at how wrinkly my skin is and that picture is OLD! Bless my heart!)
