Rattles My Bones !

She needs a good soak and block, but
I love my new sweater!
It's super bulky 100% highland wool yarn on size 15s,
so it's going to have to get pretty darn cold to
enjoy more than just looking at it!

Casting on the baby version!

Someone Asked . . .

Today, someone asked me, "What's on your needles?"
Now, you know I couldn't give just one answer, because
I think every needle has something on it.
It's a little problem I have, so...

I said, "You mean which needles currently have my hands on them?"
...That would be my 3's...

And this is what's on them.
Kettle Dyed 60% Baby Alpaca, 40% Pima Cotton
Solid: Color #2318, Multi: Color #7325

It looks like Sea Glass to me!
And no, as usual, I have no idea what the finished
garment will look like, but it's a top-down animal graph.
I'm sure, being on size 3's, that it will take me through the
upcoming Bachelorette season, so we'll just call it Emily for now.
If you follow my knitting adventures, you know I knit at least
one project during the Bachelor/Bachelorette season.
This season was filmed here in Charlotte!
Watch and knit something with me!
What's on your needles?

My Crunchy Side . . .

I stumbled onto Maggie Smith's work today.
I like baskets, but I LOVE Maggie Smith's Baskets!
Check out her Willow Exploration!

Maggie Smith is an artist after my crunchy heart!
I'm so infatuated with her sculpture!

Now I'm feeling a HABU kind of day!

A little bird told me that TANGLES in Waxhaw has
placed a reorder and will be restocked soon!

This one, Natural Cover Wrapped Cotton, would look amazing in a sculpture!
I've made bags with it and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the texture!

This Fique is another artist's fiber! It's made from Pineapple!
The "Head Tangler" told me she still has some of this.
The colors are amazing!

I don't think anyone else in our neighborhood carries HABU.
So whether you wait for her to restock, or run out there this weekend,
dear knitters, put HABU and TANGLES on your TO-DO list!
I'll let you know when her order has arrived!

I've said this 1000 times, "No matter what you make
with HABU, it's going to be amazing! It's not about
the design this time, it's about the Fiber!"

My friends at Knit-Purl (Portland, OR) also carry HABU,
which, while gathering that link...

Shibui Linen Yarn
landed me on the new Shibui Linen!
Go look at the amazing colors available in this new gem!

Whoops, I started with Maggie Smith and my linkiness turned this into a knitting post!
Sorry nonknitters, that's just how I roll. xov (KissHugStitch!)

Old School Crush !

(isn't he adorable)

Well, looks like I'm right on target for fall.
I started playing with Brooklyn Tweed's LOFT a few weeks ago.
I purchased this yarn for another project that got frogged,
and now I wish I had a completely different color palate.
But, as you know, these greys will fit perfectly in my closet.

Always inspired by my surroundings, our old rugs inspired this shrug.
I'll have it off the needles for the Bachelor's final rose.
Surely he doesn't pick turtle lips?!
"See ya, Wouldn't want to be ya?"
Who says that?!
It's not like she doesn't have a clue she's on TV?!

Dear Katherine Heigl ,

We seem to have the same addiction.
We also have the same look on our faces when we see the bill at check-out,
but my guess is you can afford it. Do you think you could get me a little
acting job on the side so we can be besties and knit together?
I'll teach you all my tricks! Whatda say?
Please reply ASAP!

note to self: call Katherine for a stitch 'n bitch next time I'm in LA

The Beekeeper !

Surely, if you're a knitter, you've seen this!
I flipped when I saw this on Ravelry!
It's designed by one of my favorite Ravelry designer discoveries!

She's a singer-songwriter and clearly she can sing and knit at the same time. Tonight starts the beginning of my fall knitting "class" and I'm going to do my best to talk these knitters into making this all together. They are little hexagon pillows made in the round. These are stuffed with a little fiber fill, but I'm thinking of leaving mine empty...I think it will be drapier (is that a word?) and cooler for the south. I'm thinking NORO Silk Garden Lite or a palate of solid Blue Sky Alpaca Royal or Sport... Ok, who's with me on this one? KAL!? Show 'n tell once a month!? It took Stephanie a year!

I also want to make her little double pointed needle holders!
...Check the gang out...

X O V !

That would be KISS, HUG, STITCH!
If the color palate isn't enough,
close your eyes and imagine
cozy throws and a fire...

I better get stitchin'!
xov!

Are You Ready For Some Football ?

(fan image ~ HERE ~)

Personally, I'm not quite so enthusiastic when it
comes to game day...

But I could get excited over this ~ Panther Scarf.~
I'm not much on watching sports,
unless you want to talk about ~ PBR Bullriding! ~
But there's a lot of buzz around this town about the ~ Carolina Panthers ~
and if you're going to the games, I think you need to order this scarf!
Look, his little nose is even the right color!

Let me know if their shipping takes forever and how much.
I'm always scared to order things from across the pond,
but their fall catalog is scrumptious!

HERE'S MY WISH LIST!
(most of which I can just make myself if i could find the time!)

(How about Berroco Voyage)

All of the scarves I'm pulled to this year
are wider and more like a blanket.
Perfect for football weather!

(This looks woven, but would be an easy knit!

I love the embellished bags!
This Antik Batik coin clutch is wonderful with the
pom-pom embellishment!

(Maybe from Rowan Lima...it's so light weight and smooshy wonderful!
It's currently my favorite yarn and In The Loop reports they've got a new chunky version
that I can't wait to get my needles into!)

Most of the knits and sweaters,
I did what I always do,
"I can just make that for me!"
But I can't make shoes...yet!

My clog fetish has not diminished.
I ADORE THESE CLOG BOOTS!
I need to replace my Uggs and my Clogs so...
You know what I'm thinking!
Kill two shoes with one purchase!

Don't miss the HOME section as you browse their website!

I'm crazy about this basket set! I really really want them!
And this doorstop is begging me to make him!

Last but not least and surely something to be cast onto my needles
as soon as possible, ADORABLE wool snood by Jago!
LOVE the yellow and the pink combo!

(I bet we can find a good combo in Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande or Spud & Chloe Outer
It's washable and dryable and the color palate is perfect for fun projects like this! PrettyStuff, pick your combo!
MaryRives, how about Carolina Blue and White?! Julia, Black & Gold GO TERRIERS!)

All Together Now . . .

Let's knock off ~ Gucci! ~ Seriously, how easy is this?

The description says there's a zipper somewhere, but there's no view of it. This cape is an Alpaca/Wool blend and probably about $40 vs $1,095 if you can knit. Let's one-up Gucci and make this out of Ellie's Reclaimed Cashmere! ~ I'm headed to ~ In The Loop ~ before I go back to NC, guess what's on my shopping list!? Sorry ~ Neiman Marcus,~ this time you lose...
