My PINTEREST made it easier to link these last two collages, but the first two...not so much... I hate that! Most of those pics are older saves and were hiding in my computer. If you know the source, please share it with me so I can credit! I don't use Pinterest much, I save most images that I don't use here first, in THE CUL de SAC on Tumblr, and pin lots of recipes...oink!

Lots of Words . . .

I know, a lot of words lately, but I love this one too.
I want to live this way!
and It needs to be hanging
in every lower school classroom on Parents' Night.

Was It A Good Thing . . .

...that I let ~ PrettyStuff ~ watch Oprah
every day with me when she was little a little girl?
She adored it...no purple dino for her!

She's always been an old soul. She just gets stuff. They shuffled her out of preschool. They said she was "directing traffic" so she skipped the 4s and went to TK instead. I'm guessing she learned it all from Oprah, cuz she's still calling me with quotes like this and complaining about how a certain class may cut into her Oprah time. Glad she posted this one so I could blog it forward. Thanks "Pete," I missed it. I think it's very fitting that this is Oprah's last season and it's PrettyStuff's last semester...good timing O, but who will PrettyStuff's littles watch...

He said,

“I feel everyone has a talent, and no, not one that is cliche or falls into a style or category, but a personal hobby that they either practice or dont; to those that dont, we have days, minutes, and seconds, to count in our life time, we sit around saying things, wishing things, our thoughts beg for them, but our fingers never pick up the hint. we have so few things to count before we go out forgetting the reason why we never practiced, or showed off the talents we possessed. what fear do you hold? that someone wont appreciate it? life is and will never be about who is at the side of your death bed, the amount of success measured in what you can pass off to your children, but of the image you left in hearts, whether it was for an hour, for a few years, or a lifetime. Talents have that ability. dont let that go to waste, because i guarantee when you are sighing your last few breaths, you will have wanted to please yourself more than others. because you die you, not them, making others happy with what makes you happy is another miracle we take for granted, and never appreciate, then forget about. remember, we dont take gold to our graves, but the talents we never used. and to those of you do; never stop.”

Through Her Eyes . . .

I just followed the link from ~ Rikshaw ~ to Philippine Scali's website. I am left speechless and dreaming of the day I could even halfway take a photograph, style one, or make something that kicks a sense into action... makes you feel something. Clicking through her site, I am reminded of the many of the saved Ansel Adams quotes in my files...

"Simply look with perceptive eyes at the world about you,
and trust to your own reactions and convictions.
Ask yourself:
"Does this subject move me to feel, think and dream?
Can I visualize a print -
my own personal statement of what I feel
and want to convey - from the subject before me?"
...ansel adams...

"Photography,
as a powerful medium of expression
and communications,
offers an infinite variety of perception,
interpretation and execution."
...ansel adams...

"Photography is more than
a medium for factual communication of ideas.
It is a creative art."
...ansel adams...

"Sometimes I do get to places
just when God's ready to have somebody
click the shutter."
...ansel adams...

"You don't take a photograph, you make it."

"Twelve significant photographs
in any one year is a good crop."
...ansel adams...

"A photograph is usually looked at - seldom looked into."
...ansel adams...

"Not everybody trusts paintings,
but people believe photographs."
...ansel adams...

"To the complaint, 'There are no people in these photographs,'
I respond, 'There are always two people:
the photographer and the viewer."
...ansel adams...

"A good photograph is knowing where to stand."
...ansel adams...

"There are no rules for good photographs,
there are only good photographs."
...ansel adams...

"When words become unclear,
I shall focus with photographs.
When images become inadequate,
I shall be content with silence."
...ansel adams...

Need I say more?
